Anyone else noticing a complete lack of insects in their area? We usually plant flowers and some fruit, herbs and veggies in our backyard, but so far there has been not much activity. The only bugs we found so far are these tiny little ones that are just annoying. There's no spider webs, wasps nests, no butterflies or bees, not even stink bugs or mosquitoes, hardly anything at all compared to last year. Even the amount of June bugs were very few compared to the usual graveyard we find because the streetlight in front of our house. This is in Sangamon County btw.

Joey Veerman spoke out strongly against Ronald Koeman on Sunday. The PSV midfielder no longer feels the need for a call with the Dutch national team coach, now that he is not going to the World Cup either.

Veerman will no longer make himself available for the Dutch national team as long as Koeman is the national coach. "He doesn't need to call me anymore," he told ESPN on Sunday about Koeman after PSV's 5-1 victory over FC Twente.

After the 2024 European Championship in Germany, Koeman no longer called up the player from Volendam. The national coach was often asked at press conferences and in interviews why Veerman is no longer part of his plans.

"He is not my first or second option for the position on the left side of midfield," Koeman said, among other things. "Joey's character is different," he added.

Veerman is not pleased about this. "If you hold press conferences like this and say that my character isn't good, then at some point I'm done with it. It is his choice, but then just say that you make different choices and don't come up with arguments about my character."
