Kashmir Trip In june with Parents and Toddler
Planning a Kashmir trip in mid-June 2026 (about 2 weeks away) and would love feedback/suggestions from people who’ve been there recently.
Travelling with parents (60+, mom has arthritis so excessive walking/trekking isn't ideal), 2-year-old child. Looking for scenic, relaxed experiences rather than rushed sightseeing
Current itinerary:
Day 1 – Srinagar
- Arrive in Srinagar
- Mughal Gardens
- Shikara ride
- Walk around Dal Lake area
Day 2 – Gulmarg (Phase 1 Gondola already booked)
- Golf Course lawns
- Strawberry Valley
- Looking to see lupins too — any specific area where they’re commonly found in mid-June?
- Return to Srinagar by evening
Day 3 – Srinagar → Sonmarg
- Planning to stop around Ganderbal/apple orchard areas for scenic views (understand it won’t be apple season yet)
- Check into Four Points by Sheraton Sonmarg
- Relax around nearby meadows
Questions:
- Any good scenic stopovers on the Srinagar–Sonmarg route?
- What can be done in Sonmarg post lunch/evening that’s relaxing and senior-friendly?
Day 4 – Thajiwas Glacier + return to Srinagar
- Any tips to reach Thajiwas with elders.
- Looking for something interesting/unique to do after Thajiwas before returning to Srinagar
Day 5 – Shopping + airport (~1 PM departure)
Would also love recommendations for:
- Memorable picnic spots (river + meadow views preferred)
- Easy experiences suitable for seniors + toddler
- Hidden gems / less crowded scenic places
- Anything we should skip or replace
Thanks!
