Puppy possibly being a mixed breed, if true should I contact AKC?
I’ve got a 6 month old supposedly pure bred DDR German Shepherd that came from the sister kennel of the breeder I was working with. I contacted the breeder I worked with because his ears haven’t stood up at all and I was curious if at this point I should try one of the methods to help them stand up or not. During that phone call they informed me that the mom was supposedly impregnated/mated by not only the male shepherd but also a golden Labrador. I’m doing a DNA test to confirm if he in fact mixed or not. Regardless of the results he’s staying home with me even though they offered to take him and replace with one of their puppies from their upcoming litter. What I’m upset about is I wasn’t contacted about this being a possibility, the sister kennel still has photos of 1 his litter mates for sale being advertised as pure bred and I mean he straight up has the body of a Labrador. The breeder i worked with offered me a full refund when I called so if they do the right thing in the end I don’t want to get them in trouble.
