I am a 23F diagnosed with subclinical hypothyroidism (thyroid antibodies are very elevated) (TSH >10, FT3 and FT4 normal).

I got my hormones checked because I lost my period for a few months, but I have always had irregular cycles, so that was not completely unusual for me.

I do not have any other symptoms.

For now, my doctor prescribed 50 mcg of Euthyrox and selenium and zinc supplements.

I am supposed to start the treatment, but I am very anxious and scared of side effects. I know it sounds silly, but one of my biggest fears is gaining weight. My doctor reassured me that this would not happen because the medication would simply bring my body back to normal, and she even commented that I do not look like someone whose thyroid is working slowly at all (I weigh around 50 kg and I have been naturally thin my whole life without paying much attention to my diet).

All of this really scares me. Right now I feel completely fine, and I am afraid that starting the treatment will change that.
