Wigs

I have alopecia and have used wigs by the Wig Fairy for a couple of years. I really love them, but feel like they are really overpriced in comparison to others on the market. I recently spoke to one of the hair specialists who told me that the wigs only last for 2 to 3 years and that I need to send them in for repairs every 6 to 8 months. Is this just part of having hair loss or are there better and more affordable options long-term?

This is a more recent thing for me so I would love to know what other people have done for long-term hair solutions
