I (27f) met a girl a while ago, let’s call her Sam (fake name and I don’t know her age but she’s close to my age). Before we officially met, I saw her downtown multiple times and we would always have flirty eye contact. The first time we spoke, we were at a bar and she approached me and told me she thought I was hot. We proceeded to flirt throughout the night and she was very touchy with me and bought me a drink. She was pretty drunk that night so I didn’t make any moves to take anything further. I ran into her the next weekend and we were both very flirty again. Before leaving the bar with my friends that night, I gave her a piece of paper with my number on it. This was about a month ago now and she never reached out to me. I ran into her again the other night. I pretended not to notice her because I took her not reaching out as a sign that I misread things before and she’s not interested, but my friend said that when Sam noticed me, her face lit up and she waved, which I genuinely did not see. She then walked by my table of friends multiple times but never made any direct contact with me. I’m so confused with the mixed signals. For additional context, I’m gay in a very small town so the potential options of girls to flirt with in real life is extremely limited and I genuinely think she’s very pretty. I’d like to pursue things further, but I’m not interested in playing games. I regret giving her my number without any other context because I do wonder if she hasn’t reached out because she doesn’t know what I’m looking for, she could be looking for something casual and think I’m looking to date someone seriously or vice versa. How would you proceed?
