6 weeks post LIS retear?
So I’ve had a chronic fissure for years and had 4 internal hemorrhoids banded last year, 2 rounds of Botox for the fissure in the last 7 months and LIS surgery 6 weeks ago.
The Botox helped but didn’t heal and things went back to how they were three weeks post procedure.
LIS surgery did get for the first 5 weeks but about a week ago I had a day when I had small spots of blood after two bowel movements. This morning I had a rough go and there was more blood the first and second movement I had this morning.
I’ve been drinking half a gallon of water, doing Metamucil each day, stool softeners and still do warm baths along with ointment. I know chronic ones take a while to heal but should I be worried about this backslide???
My surgery follow up was yesterday (virtual) and he didn’t really seem concerned by the previous small spot of blood day. Pain is way way down and there still is some pulsing but it’s not painful, just annoying.
I’m trying to limit beer and eat clean, but no matter what I do the first movement each day seems harder than the rest. It’s like the first third of the movement is constipated.
My doc left the hospital and my LIS surgery was cancelled and I was lucky enough to get into a hospital a few hours away but this surgeon isn’t my regular doc and I’m not able to get into my new doc until the end of July.
Is this just a bump in the road or the on-ramp to a new highway to hell?
I don’t know what options are left now but I think it’s just surgical options at this point…if anyone had a similar experience I’m hopeful to hear that it will get better.
