Archery world cup (For those who wants to follow)
This is current status after phase-2 completed recently in Shanghai China.
- Stage 1: Puebla, Mexico (April 7–12) [Finished]
- Stage 2: Shanghai, China (May 5–10) [Finished]
- Stage 3: Antalya, Türkiye (June 9-14)
- Stage 4: Madrid, Spain (July 7-12)
- Grand Final: Saltillo, Mexico (September 12–13)
There're multiple events, men & women individuals, teams (3 players), mix doubles (men & women).
These gold ones are directly not for grand finals only individual ones are directly selected for finals, India only has one individual bronze medal, but two team gold medals, this performance is quiet improvement from previous seasons, hope for better.
There're no team matches in Grand Final, so only 4 winners from each stage, 3 from world ranking, 1 host country wildcards are allowed in Grand finals.
Some stats of Indian archery. India has won a total of 10 individual medals in World Cup Final history:
- The Lone Champion: Dola Banerjee remains the only Indian archer to ever win a Gold medal at the Grand Final, achieving the feat in Dubai in 2007.
- The Silver Streak: Deepika Kumari is India's most successful representative, having qualified for the Grand Final numerous times. She has won 5 Silver medals (2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2024) and 1 Bronze medal (2018).
- Compound Breakthroughs: Abhishek Verma won a Silver in 2015 and a Bronze in 2018 in the men's compound division. Most recently, in October 2025, Jyothi Surekha Vennam made history by becoming the first Indian woman compound archer to secure an individual Grand Final medal, claiming Bronze.
This year scenario if Sahil Jadhav continues his performance in next two seasons in turkey and Spain, he has high chances of qualification through world rankings, other possible chances as of now are Deepika Kumari and Jyothi Surekha Vennam.
It's interesting to follow this sports, as things are growing but not at the scale it should've as we already have Deepika Kumari who continuously performed individually and now there're back to back two golds in two seasons.
