Two grand slams in a row

Two grand slams in a row

I got back to DD2 after a break (~350 hours played before) and completed 2 grand slams in a row.

I never thought about even trying it, it seemed too hard. But it wasn't that bad.

In my first attempt Sharphot HWM Died right before Obsession Mountain (I had 1st and 2nd confessions completed, I was going in order). I replaced him with Deadeye GR and continued with 4th and 5th confessions, going back to 1st and 2nd.

Skills order: mandatory/main -> more optional/replacable

1st team:

Gameplan: Clear 3rd and 4th lane with Flashing Daggers, Runaway and Hellion's If it Bleeds. Crusader in front executes with Smite and Reap, with Hellion: self reliable, team stress heals, heavy frontline damage. Runaway Controlled Burn against bosses.

Aggresor Crusader: Smite, Reap, Battle Heal, Inspiring Cry, Radiance

Ravager Hellion: Wicked Hack, If it Bleeds, Raucous Revelry, Adrenaline Rush, Howling End

Orphan Runaway: Firefly, Controlled Burn, Searing Strike, Cauterize, Smokescreen

Deadeye Grave Robber: Flashing Daggers, Dead of the night, Lunge, Shadow Fade, Absinthe

2nd team:

Gamemplan: quickly kill (usually 3rd lane) oponent with HWM and Duelist. Spam Magnesium Rain on corpses. Stun with MAA's Hold the line. A lot of shields and dodge, healing from PD rarely needed. Party rotates to spam Fleche

Bulwark M-A-A: Hold the line, Bolster, Bellow, Stand Fast, Rampart or Crush.

Rogue HWM: Duelist's Advance, Double Tap, Double Cross, Tracking Shot, Highway Robbery

Duelist: Fleche, Feint, Meditation, Preparation, Coup de Grace

Plague Doctor: Magnesium Rain, Emboldening Vapours, Noxious Blast, Battlefield Medicine, Indiscriminate Science

General Tips:

Start with 3rd/4th/5th confession, leave the easiest 1st&2nd for last.

Don't start with Radiant Flame to avoid overconfidence, pick it up later though to secure success.

~3 stagecoach items bought at the Altar of Hope help a lot. Depending on RNG different pet might be used.

Fav pets: food rabbit, road slime, medical snake, scouting shrieker

You shouldn't rely on a single healer. Avoid Death's Door at all cost, death blow resistance is a myth

Prioritize: building reliationships at Inns, fights in regions for mastery points, removing bad quirks, lairs/creature dens/chirurgeons you can defeat give you a lot of power

Do not underestimate DoTs, shield and blindness tokens, Execution skills, speed and health stats, always use combat items

Learn enemies and priority targets. Kill 1-2 enemies asap. Dead enemy doesn't damage you

What were your Grand Slam teams, what was your biggest problem during the challenge?
