I received this orchid as a gift two years ago. After its store-bought blooming period, during all this time at home it only grew one new leaf and nothing else - it just existed. At the beginning of this spring, I decided to bring it to work, placed it under a ficus on the southeast side, and also repotted it (she had lots of good root). As the amount of sunlight gradually increased during spring, she adapted very well, the leaves turned reddish, but remained rigid and even firmer.
And now-four new roots and a long-awaited flower spike are growing!
I'm so happy, can't get enough of it. :)
As summer gets underway, I'll place a screen between orchid and the window if the shade from the ficus leaves is no longer enough.
