Rethinking decision to keep 8 week lab puppy

So ive never had to keep dogs in the house and im 18 years old. I have holidays going on right now which will be going on for 1.5 month more.

I never requested or asked for a dog as a child but after highschool finished i thought it would be nice to have. But i always expected my parents to never agree but was surprised when they did. So we puppy-proofed few rooms of the house he might be allowed to enter in, bought food, treats, crate, toys.

We've had him for about a week and he's a playful nippy old male lab, but ive slowly started to realise that when ill be leaving home for college soon i dont think my parents will be able to manage him AT ALL. My dad is a doctor and my mom is a university professor who needs to read a lot. I have a 6th grader little brother but he wont be able to do much too.

My dad will not really be able to take care of him and i dont want to put all this work on my mother. We have a day-maid but she already has a lot of work and wont really be tending to the dog.

Right now he sleeps in the crate at night, plays and sleeps the day w sufficient walks and i know i am very incompetent to have taken this responsibilty without thinking it through but i dont feel he will be happy living like this. And when i keep him in the house or anywhere else, im w him 24/7 to monitor him so he doesnt eat anything dangerous or scratch at stuff other than his toys or stuff.

I know that some people might call this the puppy blues, but i really am reconsidering his future, for the sake of him and my family.

Should i just give him away to smone or back to the guy who has the mother to find another owner?
