Why does the Gravity improve its efficiency after 2000 miles?

see the title. I can understand the idea of systems 'breaking in,' but what exactly breaks in? is it just better at estimating range after 2000 miles? I'm really interested in the scientific explanation for this.

My L2 charger is outdoors and only one car can park close enough to initiate charging. We have to reposition the cars to charge them. Our newest car has NACS port but the L2 charger has a J1772 connector. Would it be unsafe to use the J1772 to NACS adapter and then the NACS to NACS adapter from A2Z? Or is this not advisable.
