Why does the Gravity improve its efficiency after 2000 miles?

see the title. I can understand the idea of systems 'breaking in,' but what exactly breaks in? is it just better at estimating range after 2000 miles? I'm really interested in the scientific explanation for this.

Gravity: Compromise nothing, Except your drivetrain which can lose power randomly

It is extremely disappointing to write this post . I leased a brand new Lucid Gravity 2026 in March of this year. I was super excited .

April 11 - the car's display lit up like a christmas tree - throwing all kinds of alerts:

* Drive with caution - Stability Control Unavailable
* DreamDrive Limited - Schedule Service
* Drive with caution - Speed limited to 35mph
* Use Brakes to Hold - Vehicle Hold Error, Schedule Service

https://preview.redd.it/to86zkoq782h1.jpg?width=900&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d5aed623d649a74c0ef7c9d46dd91643b91f9594

The car got towed to the MIlbrae Service center where it sat for ~2 weeks due to backlog. Lucid thankfully provided me with a rental initially and then with a loaner Air.

When the technician finally got to the car - they found a fault relating to the inverter of the front drive unit. This fault shows an internal failure that will require a replacement of the hardware. Turns out this fault is actually caused due to a software bug - which is supposed to be fixed in release 3.6 ( ETA unknown ) . The car got returned back to me with a note saying:

Client notified that car may lose power due to DSW reappearing during wait for new software.

This past Sunday ( May 17 ) the issue popped up again - where the drive train lost power and speed got limited again.

I opened a case with Lucid to buyback the car and get me out of a fundamentally broken car . 11 calendar days, multiple emails later they have not the decency to even respond. So much so for "compromise nothing". Only thing you compromise on is the safety of the passengers and your loved ones when you purchase/lease this car.. Way to go Lucid.. Way to go!!

My keys are good now!

I was one of the people who got their Gravity after 3.5.1 update and was disappointed that both of my keys had awful performance almost right away. No matter the amount of battery replacements and resets they were working max 50% of the time. Walk away locking was mainly me needing to use the app and I have to be standing next to my door for the handle to pop out. Sometimes it wouldn’t even pop out and pressing unlock didn’t work, at times I had to press unlock a bunch of times and even then over 30s delay or wouldn’t work at all.

Well, finally had my mobile tech appointment and they mentioned they had firmware that wasn’t OTA to try. But they also noticed that my keys were earlier hardware revision. Apparently the new one fixes buttons getting stuck (never had that) along other things they don’t know about. They replaced both of my keys. Since then, omg… it’s perfect. Car actually unlocks if I walk to the trunk, no odd locking as I’m next to it behavior. Locking and unlocking in general is very good and handles present themselves before I even walk to the driver door.

Don’t know if it will help others, but wanted to share.

Gravity Road Tripping Video (YouTube link in description)

https://youtu.be/XxAEtgUWa44?si=uNBWqqTqZm8\_Eldp
I’ve had my Lucid GT for about 6 months now and absolutely love it! I have 12K miles on it and even took it road tripping through Utah for 10 days (2,000 miles) with my gf and dog. All three of us slept in the Gravity and were very comfortable. It is very spacious and we had a blast watching Bob Lazar’s new documentary S4 on an iPad using the Gravity’s Atmos sound system for audio via Bluetooth. Quite appropriate watching a show about UFOs in our spaceship camping deep into some BLM land.

Sure it’s had a few software bugs at first but nothing critical and they seem to have been fixed a few months ago with OTA updates. There’s really nothing quite like this car, it’s truly a spaceship.

Gravity GT battery math

Hey everyone,
Recently picked up a Gravity GT after coming from a BMW iX. I am still adjusting to the battery math. I never trusted range shown in the iX, but could basically bank on 1 % of the battery equaling roughly 1 kwh (with its 105 kw pack).

I think Gravity’s usable capacity is around 115 ~118 kw, but my trip data is not adding up. Here are two recent samples:

Trip A: Used 85% battery (energy tab), but the trip computer says I only consumed 91 kWh. (settings tab)
Trip B: Used 5% battery, trip computer shows 5.2 kWh used.

If I calculate the total capacity based on those numbers, the car acts like it only has a 104 ~ 107 kw battery.

I am ignoring parked battery drain (energy tab) and only looking at driving consumption. Are you folks seeing something similar? Does the trip meter just ignore climate loads (however, range test on YouTube were correct regarding battery size) or my car’s battery percent calculation is off? Yet to reach 1000 miles.

Stored 3rd Row Seats Moving/Bouncing

I noticed the 3rd row seats don't "lock" into place and bounce when going over a speed bump. Is this normal? If not, does anyone else have this issue?

Window won’t close

The driver’s side window window goes up and then immediately comes back down about five inches—won’t stay up. Has anyone experienced this? No amount of opening and closing the door helps. We have to drive with an open window.

Turtle mode, no hold and capped under 5MPH

Finally happened to our GGT. My wife was driving with my daughter in the rear car seat turning left when she started feeling shuttering and heard beeping. Car is in turtle mode, no hold, and couldn’t go more than a few MPH. I’m thankful nobody was coming quickly in cross traffic or who knows what would have happened. It’s currently at the Portland repair shop to see what can be done. I feel like I was dismissive when others had these types of problems, but it hits home when my 3 year old was in the back seat and they were in the middle of an intersection.

Became part of the family on 5/8

Picked up my 2026 GGT (7 seater, all packages except for towing) from the Legacy Studio in Frisco, TX. What a beautiful spaceship, quiet, and comfortable. The build quality is much better than my previous Model X plaid, and the storage volume is out of this world. The sound system (Pro) feels so much better than the MX, but it could be because of the overall quieter cabin. The dynamic range exceeded my expectations so far, giving me over 360 miles at 80%, getting really close to the 437 advertised. Getting over 100 more miles than I would with my Plaid.

So far the issues that I’ve got are not that bad, but there are a few things that happened since pickup:

  1. The driver side mirror folds but fails to unfold 99% of the time.
  2. The ambient lights from the dash turn off when driving but the doors (front and back) don’t, but sometimes all of them are off.
  3. The fob has an update but nothing I do (batteries, moving away from the vehicle) results in the app connecting to the fob
  4. Car seems to think I’m still in the car after I leave, leaving music / podcasts running until I manually lock it
  5. It seems loud whenever it wakes up / charges, way louder and active than my MX.
  6. The driver side wireless charger doesn’t seem to work reliably, and it takes a lot more than it should to correctly start charging my IPhone Pro Max, and it feels slower than my MX charger.

Some things I don’t like, but I feel will get better through software

  1. Apple CarPlay seems to be operating at a lower resolution than Lucid’s OS, and it feels weird
  2. Despite the surrounding cameras, I don’t feel they help with parking in tight spaces. Maybe this one is user error since my MX didn’t have full 360 / Birds Eye view and I’m not used to it.
  3. The hud positioning is restricted and can’t find a way to feel comfortable with it, it feels too “in your face” rather than a support tool, and doesn’t integrate with CarPlay’s navigation
  4. CarPlay doesn’t always start automatically in every session, and I have to press the car play button; no need to re pair or anything, just have to “start it”, but the first 3 times I got in the vehicle during and after delivery it would start automatically.
  5. The blind spot monitoring feels small; there’s more space it can take to make it more usable / larger sized.
  6. I miss geolocation things like auto mirror folding and auto halo off based on locations.
  7. The customizable buttons feel like a gimmick given how very little actions can be assigned to them.
8)The AC doesn’t seem to be very smart on auto mode.
  8. So…many….dings during drives… with not enough information on how to reduce them.

All of this to say…. This is a great SUV, with a lot of upside, and fixable issues. So far, super happy with taking the leap of faith from Tesla to Lucid.

Increased efficiency

So I had to go out of town for a few days so my wife ended up driving my GGT while I was gone and look what I found when I get back. That’s the highest I’ve seen it. I’ve had up to 3.12 a few times but never 3.18. Guess there are benefits to driving more slowly. 😉😂
