20”/21” Aero Wheel Cover Removal

20”/21” Aero Wheel Cover Removal

Hi fellow owners - I’m one week into my Lucid Gravity GT ownership and already modifying the vehicle.

I made a brief video explaining how to remove the lug nut covers and Aero wheel covers on my 20”/21” Lucid Gravity wheels.

Figured I’d help others who want to try doing this themselves.

Enjoy!

Picking up my Gravity Grand Touring

Super excited to be picking up my gravity GT in the next day or so. Ever since I test drove one a few months back I have been itching to land one in the spec I wanted.

Can anyone point me to a video or a document that highlights what all is included accessory wise? I’ve read that it comes with J1772-to-NACS and CCS1-to-NACS adapters. Is there anything else I should be looking for before making the long drive home :)

Liftmaster 8500 - issues opening

I’ve taken a brief video of an issue that I have encountered two times over the past month on one of my LiftMaster 8500s. The issue happens when trying to open either by the wall control or a remote control. The door unlocks, and tries to go up and stops just like this. This time I was able to capture a video.

What I do next is pull the manual release. Then reengage the release, and then use the wall control to open the door. In both instances following that technique, the door opens fine the next time.

Is this a sign of the motor going out or is there something else I should be looking out for? The spring is intact, but I do notice this garage door opens a little bit slower than my other door of this size.

Batting Gloves for durability?

What batting glove would you recommend that's comparable to the Rawlings Workhorse in terms of cushioning and durability?

The Workhorse has been reliable for my 11yr old, lasting significantly longer than many of the less expensive options I've tried. We can get nearly a full year out of them, but we need a better approach for washing/cleaning them.

I'm looking for a batting glove with a similar feel, comfort, and longevity to try out this fall. Any tips for cleaning and keeping them soft without smelling is appreciated too!

Starlink Mini and Jackery

I finally bit the bullet and picked up a Starlink Mini and looking for ballpark setup advice.

We recently bought a vehicle with rear-seat entertainment, and it seemed like the perfect time to invest in one for road trips and weekends at the ballfields.

I already bring a Jackery to power fans and other gear, so I plan to use it to run the Starlink Mini as well.

I’m looking for advice on the best way to set it up near my tent at the ballpark (do not want to mount onto the fence or keep moving it).

How are you mounting yours - on your canopy, next to your tent, on a stand or, using pole, or something else? I’d love to see pictures of your setups.

Also, assume I need a travel router, or is the Starlink Mini’s built-in Wi-Fi enough? Our team tents are typically set up together and are usually only a short distance from the ballfields, so I don’t think I need a ton of range—but I’d love to hear what has worked well for others. Right not I’ll only be using one Mevo Start camera behind the backstop.

Thanks in advance for any tips or setup recommendations!

Why not purchase a Mini direct from StarLink?

Other than being able to control when the activation occurs, why are people spending $50 more to purchase the mini from Home Depot or tractor supply versus buying it direct?

I am finally going to move forward with the purchase after debating (mainly for in motion use and Softball) - I could not find a specific reason why not to get it directly from Starlink other than activation. What am I missing?

Question/Advice for support bracing

My friends and I built a batting cage out of 6 x 6 using Simpson StrongTie post bases.

I am looking for help/advice to reinforce the cage to prevent lateral movement from wind/weather - the structure is 16’ tall and needs it. I think I have the right idea on how to prevent the movement, but wanted the experts to chime in.

In the first two pictures you will notice that the design has one 6 x 6 attached to the other from the outside secured by carriage bolts.

The third picture is the knee/support brace that was cut to accommodate the design. Based on this here are my questions…

  1. Can I install this knee/support brace in the location that is colored in red on all four corners to provide the lateral support I am looking for?

  2. If the answer to #1 is yes, what would be the proper way to secure this knee/support brace to the wood? I have not found any metal brackets to support what I am designing, but I am fairly new award working so maybe they are out there

  3. Is there a better type of brace to use or location? I’m struggling to find any type of metal preformed bracing to use based on my design.

I am open to other suggestions on how to provide reinforcement. Looking back at the design, it would’ve been easier not to have the horizontal board positioned the way it is, but not looking to change that.

Getting ready to add a MaxBP to our home cage (15x55). Currently have a hack attack junior that we use before game days, but I can totally see the value of adding the MaxBP into the mix.

The only thing that I am a bit questioning is the most efficient way to pick up those tiny balls? What are you all doing that would be easy for a 11-year-old to pick up by themselves?

Picking up a bucket of softballs is a nice break in between reps with the Hack Attack, but I could totally see 50+ tiny balls all over the place may not be as fun.
