Please help identify!

Repost because I forgot photos lol

I found all of these online, where they were described as 2010-2011 dolls and I'm trying to confirm but I cannot distinguish between some of the releases 😭 the worst part is I don't think I can see them before purchasing so I can't check for hip joints or elastics. Is there a way to identify without them?

Harpeth River Jane Doe/"Sherry" or "Cheryl" Jane Doe

37UFTN - Unidentified Reconstruction from The Doe Network

Hello! This is my first time posting, please let me know if I've done something wrong or if I'm missing something! Please note this is a LONG post.

I learned about this Jane Doe recently and I just can't get her out of my head! I went into a real deep dive when I read through a thread on Websleuths where a woman (known as Buttons on the site) thought she might be her mother. This lead to a whole lot of other research and me finding an update I have not seen posted on here. I will explain some more of the situation with Buttons' mother as Buttons herself has contacted the officer in charge of Jane Doe's case because she believes she could be her mother. She apparently went on a podcast around 2023 saying this, but I can’t find it. However, specifics were mentioned on "The Fall Line" podcast by (presumably) the person she talked to, such as similar scars, alcohol history, and dental information (oddly positioned canine). As of April 16, 2025, he actually believes there is a good chance of a match as well, but confirming it with so little information is not easy.

If you're not familiar with this Jane Doe, she does not have any DNA available and collecting any at this point is difficult because authorities do not know where her body is. Buttons has already submitted her DNA to different sites (NAMUS and I believe one other place as she stated in the Websleuth thread). Additionally, her sketch is very accurate because she was found soon after her death. However, Buttons shared that she does not have access to any pictures of her. This obviously makes for a very difficult match.

The update is admittedly minor, but in a case like this, I think anything can help. For context, Jane Doe was recognized by two men who gave her and another woman a ride from Nashville ten days before she was found. Jane Doe carried a picture of a little boy who she told the men was the son of the woman who accompanied her. They were supposed to be heading to Florida, where her husband was. The woman was never identified or found, but her identity could lead to more information about Jane Doe.

Detective Matthew Filter went on The Fall Line on April 16, 2025 to state that he had discovered that about three weeks after Harpeth Jane Doe was found, another Jane Doe was found in Kentucky (about 4 hrs away from Warpath River) on April 17, 1976. She was estimated to have been deceased for about 3 weeks and her description was similar to that given by the men who gave Harpeth Jane Doe a ride. The detective also actually went to re-interview one of the men with the sketch of the Kentucky Jane Doe, and though he couldn’t be sure, he did say it “favored” the girl. This update was over a year ago now (Update podcast, starts around 13:00 mark) and I haven’t heard anything further, but I did also just find out and have no way of knowing if anything ever came from it. He did share her UID #UP6711, though, which I will link down below.

That’s really the end of the update, but I wanted to share a little about Buttons’ mom if you'd like to read on. This will be a looong post and I’ll call her Anne Jones for clarity. This is basically a summary of what was posted on Websleuths and everything else I've been able to find.

Buttons started asking about her mother on Websleuths in 2014 and was very active on there up until around 2018, when she last posted.

Her mother's name is Sherry Anne Jones or Smith. She went missing from Greer South Carolina on September 1972. She was born on April 29, 1948 (so she would have been 24 when she disappeared). Her previous name was Sherry Ann Smith and she was of Puerto Rican descent. Her daughter has found notes from a psychiatrist stating that she said her adoptive parents were killed in a car crash in California when she was around 15/17 years old (this would have been from 1963-1965). However, multiple people from Websleuths have attempted to find reports on this accident and have had no luck finding something that matches. Buttons also discovered through these notes that she was seeing the psychiatrist because she was pregnant and wanted an abortion. On The Fall Line, the detective did mention that Buttons had told him about a scar on her mother’s abdomen from an abortion that was similar to that of Jane Doe. Buttons also said that Ann had a very difficult life and lived in an orphanage at some point.

Ann Jones was married to someone (unknown) in the 1960s and was divorced in 1967. Buttons has mentioned a Charles L Shirley (a web sleuth has found a possible marriage but no confirmation from anyone as Buttons had stopped being active by then). She then got married to a George Wilton Jones on May 8 1970. He was not Buttons’ father (she was born September 1970) and refused to tell her anything about her mother, always maintaining that she just left but other family members tell her this is highly unlikely.

She can be placed in Tennessee (not sure exactly where, but same state as Jane Doe) as it was where her social security card was first issued in 1967 and she was waiting tables there and in the Georgia area in 1970. Afterwards, she moved to South Carolina.

Buttons does believe her real disappearance date might be July 16th, 1972 because one of George’s family members has said that Anne disappeared while this family member was babysitting Buttons, as she was gone when they brought Buttons back. Buttons has also said that her mom went to a movie and was seen being put in a car by George’s brother. Her missing report was filed by Buttons in 2011.

Buttons has never seen her but has been told her mother was very petite with dark hair and brown eyes. It’s a very generic description but it matches Jane Doe.

Now, I really just needed to get my thoughts in order lol and organize everything I’ve read. The bad thing is that I didn’t really go over this with an unbiased perspective because I went through Jane Doe’s case and then read Anne Jones’ thread through a comment section, so I kind of went into it hoping I’d be able to find a link. One of the most obvious discrepancies is the age. Jane Doe is estimated to be 14-17 with a larger build and Anne Jones would have been 28 when Jane Doe was found. Additionally, the circumstances under which she disappeared are suspicious and Buttons has stated it was believed that George Wilton Jones and his brother killed her and hid her body in a well that was excavated but could still hold a possibility of holding her. Considering the fact that the last time she was seen (this would be on the July date. Not the September date, as Buttons has not said why she was considered to have disappeared in September rather than July), she was being put in a car, I have to assume kidnapping or at the very least nefarious purposes that would make me doubt she would be kept alive for four years after this. Or, in the case of an escape, that she would not come back to see her daughter (Buttons has heard that she was a devoted mother). The fact that Jane Doe was not reported to have been pregnant in the past while Anne Jones obviously was also brings up doubts, but because of the mishandling of her body, this doesn’t bother me quite as much as her age.

What do you guys think?
