Is this a standard procedure?

The engineer who installed the internet said this was a standard procedure and the external wall almost definitely will have a crack that big.

When I said the crack was too noticeable he attempted to fix it using a resin based glue. And thats the outcome.

He said “just don’t tell the landlord and you wont have any problems.” Which is very troubling words coming from a qualified engineer.
