I start my TC in the City very soon and I’m feeling a mix of excitement and nerves!

For those who’ve been through it, what advice would you give someone for navigating the first few weeks/month? I really want to make a good impression and start off on the right foot.

I appreciate this will differ between firms but I’d especially love to hear what you wish you knew before starting your TC, things to do, things to avoid, or just general tips for settling in and working effectively with supervisors/colleagues.

I’m also a little nervous about going from doing well academically to actually applying that knowledge in the real world, particularly at a high performing firm. Would really appreciate hearing how others found that transition and any advice for managing the pressure.

I’ve never known it to be so bad for delays and partial line suspensions!

Granted I do live in zone 4 so not expecting zone 1 frequency but can’t remember it being so bad! I’m lucky to get to the station and not be waiting more than 6 mins for the next train. Makes me wonder where all the fare revenue is going!

Am I the only one finding it excruciating having to do this after completing the SQE 2 exams? 😭

Making me reflect this much on the skills has made me realise I made mistakes in the legal analysis for interviewing/AN and now can’t help but spiral 😭

Realistically, how many stations can someone fail, let’s say 0 marks, and still pass SQE 2 overall?

Can’t help but feel I messed up the the attendance note part for both oral days 😬

Thankfully, I feel like advocacy went a lot better over both days, as well as the writtens, but can’t help but obsess over the fact I may have messed up the ANs.

I know 0 marks is quite unlikely but just trying to figure out what I’m dealing with here as SQE 2 marking seems to be such a mystery!
