Still having heavy periods on Mirena - need advice!!

Hello- I’m new to this subreddit and I’m genuinely curious to see if anyone else has dealt with this issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated 😊

I’m a 29F and I had the Mirena IUD inserted almost 2 years ago. Before then, I was dealing with extremely heavy periods, severe cramping and really low iron levels. My period has reduced slightly but is still very heavy. My iron is still really low but my cramps are now manageable because of prescription NSAIDs. I feel like the Mirena was supposed to help with these issues but the only thing that’s works for me is the painkillers lol 🥲

I was told that my periods were heavier due to PCOS and that they would improve with weight loss. I’m down almost 50 pounds (almost half way to my goal) and nothings changed. I’m considering switching implants or even going on the pill alongside my iud. Any suggestions?

I feel like my concerns are being overlooked because I am overweight, now that I’m almost at a normal BMI I’m hoping to bring my concerns and suggestions to a new gyno and hopefully get the help I need. PLEASE HELP!!!
