Husband is quite feminine.

I have been married for 1.5 years. In general the marriage is smooth sailing he’s very good to me I would say I’m good to him. We have no issues with each other but there’s one point that I picked up on.

My husband is quite feminine. He doesn’t act like a woman but he’s more interested in feminine things like for example certain tv shows etc etc he’ll happily watch them he doesn’t like sports at all but when he is with other men he’ll act interested in it. For example when he plays football with his friends they always want him to play because they say he’s quite good but he’s not interested at all he just finds all sports boring.

When I ask him about sports at home he’ll literally say don’t talk to me about that crap when I only ask because it seems like a hobby.

Some of his family members randomly poke fun at how he used to be when he was a child and a young teen and apparently he was very feminine then but shut it down and say I could never see him acting like that. And they say does he still do that and I say no.

I once asked him about it and he was very open bless him. He said to me his dad was unwell with depression for 80% of his young years till about 20. He was always with his mother and always around women so he knew no different. He said to me it’s not something he’s exactly proud of but what else could he do? I made it clear I wasn’t judging him I just was asking. He told me that his brothers aren’t like how he was because he knew exactly what to do with him and how to be with them and that’s why they have turned out very masculine.

He apologised if he weirded me out but I kept telling him there isn’t a problem and he said if I could give him a bit of leniency because it’s hard to fake an interest in things that you just aren’t interested in just to fit in with people and help your siblings so that they don’t struggle like you did. He said that’s why if he is ever blessed with children he would never want to act like this with them.

I commend him for battling this and I hope he gets reward for this in the future but I was just wanting to ask how do I assist somebody with this issue.
