Can I reverse this?
Hello, I smoke marijuana and also smoke nicotine but only if I’m drinking which isn’t often, I’ve been really struggling with receding gum line. I know it’s due to smoke and also teeth grinding, I grind so hard at night that it has changed my jaw shape into a more square jawline— it’s really upsetting I miss my old face and gum line :(. If I quit smoking, and wear a mouth guard moving forward will it somewhat reverse this? My back molars are super receded but I see it starting to spread to the teeth in the front making me feel very insecure.
Will I get my old jawline back? And will I gain some of my gum line back? Or atleast look more full? Is this now looking like periodontal disease? I’m only 31 and I have a black square between the two front teeth on my bottom teeth, and it has now progressed where there’s starting to be a gap in my front two teeth on my upper jaw.
Appreciate any feedback, I’ve been getting cleanings pretty regularly i haven’t been to one in a year because of how scared I am to talk about my gum health.
