Secret Lair, it's too bad whats happened.
Just to start with some background. I've been playing magic for 20+ years, I have been purchasing secret lair for a while as well.
One of the things I love about magic has always been the art, a premium product that brings in artists from different mediums is a great idea. Secret lair has never been necessary to play magic and it has been seen as a cash grab to some people, but I always found enjoyment playing the metal gear skull clamp or the galaxy foil sol ring.
I unfortunately did not get a goblin storm commander deck and that's ok, it's just cardboard. To those who got it that's awesome, I hope you have a lot of fun with it.
I'd like to believe all the ebay posts represent a small portion of those who managed to get a deck. If that turns out to not be the case, I just feel sad with what's become of secret lair and magic in general. If at the end of the day this hobby just becomes buying something for one dollar and selling it for five then I think it's better to just not participate. I am getting older now so I don't let myself get upset about this anymore but I do hope this isn't the new normal.
