How do you know when to take threats seriously?
Hi bromos. My son is 9 and AuDHD. He has serious anger issues and sometimes will say the most horrible things because he's so angry. I just can't figure out when I should take his threats seriously. Right now it's just talk for attention, but he's 9. I'm more worried about when he gets older.
Just tonight, he said:
"I'm going to kill you."
"I'm going to shove a rock down (little brother)'s throat until he dies."
"If I kill everyone there won't be anyone around."
"I'm going to shoot you with a gun."
I think there were a few more threats there too. It sounds horrible, but he has never attempted to seriously harm anyone. I believe he's just trying to shock us and convince us of how angry he is. I just don't know at what point I start taking this stuff more seriously. How do I convince him that he can't say shit like this?
