Fun ideas for puzzles/encounters in "The City Museum of Heroism and Villainy" dungeon?
Hello all. I am running a campaign which takes place in a kooky modern-day setting where the players all have mundane day jobs and moonlight as Adventurers.
The latest adventure is going to take them to "The City Museum of Heroism and Villainy", a large history museum focusing on famous Adventurers and Billains from the region. The building is going to act as a dungeon - the players need to break in because the Curator is going to do The Evil Thing, and they need to find and stop him.
I have encounters all sorted: there will be a room of enchanted armour that's come alive because it detects the presence of evil, but are not discerning in who they attack. There are going to be dinosaur and dragon skeletons that are secretly mimics assuming those shapes (much cheaper than paying for the real historical artefacts), and at the end the Curator is going to do The Evil Thing and resurrect a dead tyrannical beholder whose mummified remains he recently acquired.
I'd like to know if anyone has any ideas for puzzles or problems to solve along the way. I had an idea about the players having to go into an "Immersive Experience" art room that forced them to go into different paintings to retrieve something they need to progress, but am not sure what or what the puzzles themselves could be.
Any and all suggestions welcome!
