My cat was recently diagnosed with lymphoma and has a swollen lymph node in her abdomen. We have good and bad days but she seems okay most of the time. However we go to an oncology vet and her RBC have been low each time. The vet told us if her RBCs don’t come up next Monday we need a blood transfusion. I’m just wondering if there is my way to get her RBCs to come up. She on steroids antibiotics Prilosec. She is eating and drinking on her own and going to the bathroom. Vincristine didn’t work. She recently got Cyclophosphamide and seems better than before. Next Monday is doxorubicin. My plan is to do doxorubicin and get her a blood transfusion before l make the hard decision. I know a blood transfusion is only a short term solution but l need advice. All her blood work is normal except RBCs low so anemia and WBCs high. She has originally had a fever which she doesn’t have anymore. Any advice is welcome. All of this sucks so much. My cat is 10. No matter what happens l want to know l did all l can for her.
