Looking for Conversation (and Potentially Friendship)
Hey. I’m a guy in my early 20s who spent most of his life abroad (primarily in the West) and am currently studying in Pakistan for a while before eventually returning.
I’ve made good friends here and adjusted reasonably well, but there’s still a part of my inner life and experience that I rarely get to speak about openly. Recently I found myself wondering whether there are others here who’ve gone through a similar process of questioning, distancing themselves from religion, navigating cultural divides, or simply feeling somewhat alienated from the environment around them.
I’m not necessarily looking for debates of any kind; honestly, just thoughtful people to speak to, hear stories from, share stories with, and maybe become friends with over time, if it suits us both.
A few things about me:
I enjoy reading philosophy and fiction. Some favorites include the Wings of Fire series, Crime and Punishment, Brave New World, and really any of the works of Nietzsche, Jung, Marcus Aurelius, and an author I discovered very recently: Emily Dickinson.
I also have played sports. Football, basketball, tennis, and from boardgames, only chess really. Never been greatly competitive in any of them.
I also find video games quite fun. I've played a few story games such as Baldur's Gate 3 (which I'd highly recommend for anyone) and Assassin's Creed Origins. I've also played multiplayer games such as League of Legends, Dota 2, Elder Scrolls Online. Haven't played any in a while but would be up to resume this hobby.
I'd prefer to keep identifying details private initially, and I completely understand if others feel the same. Given where we live, caution matters.
This is entirely gender-agnostic. I’m open to talking with anyone thoughtful and decent regardless of background or beliefs.
If this resonates with you, feel free to reach out.
