I waited to get the written offer first before negotiating instead of verbally since I wanted to see the details myself. I got counter offered at current firm how should I go about that is there any room if the written offer is already written up and sent?

I got an offer but realized that it’s under the same ED in MO as a relative though our managers (VPs) are different. Is there an HR policy against that? Didn’t know until after I spoke to said relative and will disclose pretty soon
