Just a rant

I just wanted to get some stuff off my chest. I've worked at my job 4 years and I struggle with several chronic illnessness and with attendence. Generally I love my job. I'm very good at my job and have been told my only issue is my health/attendence. In the last year my attendence has been better and I have been promoted in the department.

With this in mind....I recently had a kidney infection and kidney stone and it's been a crappy month. My attendence slipped obviously but, I find that my boss will guilt me when I've called out because "others are sick". I feel like regardless of my medical reasons someone who gets a cold or flu is often sympathized but I am looked down on no matter what. I was so tired today and was out and almost lost it at my boss text that another person was sick and my coworkers are going to have a rough day. You serious? I passed a rock out of my body, got another infection and am exhausted.

I just feel so defeated by this kind of response because I panicked, almost forced myself to work until I did the math on our department. All benches covered and our routine staff had 5 people. Me being out was not a huge thing. We are currently overstaffed.

I am the type of person who is very good at their job and does more than asked. My sister believes that is why my boss says these things? I'm just overwhelmed and tired and had to let this out somewhere.
