McGill Law without LSAT — should I even bother applying?
I have about a month left before the McGill application deadline and I’m debating whether I should just go for it without an LSAT score. I have around a 3.5 GPA from uOttawa and I’ve been working for the federal government for the past 2 years in an administrative support role. My job involves supporting senior leadership/research teams, coordinating projects, dealing with confidential material, etc. I know McGill doesn’t require the LSAT, but I’m trying to figure out how much my GPA is going to hurt me and whether my work experience actually adds anything to my application. I also graduated in 2023.. so a letter of recommendation would be difficult to get.
For people who have applied to McGill recently without an LSAT, especially with a GPA around mine what do you think? Is it worth applying and taking the chance, or am I better off spending the next year studying for the LSAT and applying with a stronger application?
I know nobody can predict admissions, but I’d really appreciate some honest opinions. Would you apply in my position?
