Hellooo, I am going to Madrid this month (hola) but I'm wondering how exchange students usually make friends abroad? I've seen some mentions on this subreddit of a discord server and erasmus apps, but I kind of cba for the latter and would just prefer to give out my instagram or something lol. so I'm making this post to ask if anyone's in the same boat, if there are groupchats that we can join etc

and also any house hunting tips would be greatly appreciated because I have briefly browsed idealista but people say never actually commit to a place until you've seen proof that it's legit, apparently scams are prevalent :'( then again I know someone who already has a flat sorted even tho she's never been there haha
