Heads up if you're planning a wedding band-making experience — our Sip and Smith session got canceled last minute with no refund

Wanted to share this in case it saves someone else's trip plans. My wife and I built a whole afternoon of our honeymoon around a wedding band-making session at Sip and Smith — booked it about six weeks out with an employee named Kelsey, and arranged our transportation and other plans around that time slot.

After we landed in Hawaii, the session got canceled on us. We asked for a refund and were flatly refused.

Once it happened, I went looking online and found other travelers describing basically the same experience — book, get canceled on close to the date, no refund. If you're planning a trip around a specific activity like this, it's worth knowing that timing and logistics can fall apart if the business cancels on you last minute, and you may not get your money back even though you're out the cost of the activity and whatever you arranged around it.

We've filed a bank dispute and complaints with the BBB and Hawaii's consumer protection office. If anyone has had a similar run-in with them (or has tips on activities that actually deliver on wedding-related experiences), would love to hear it.

Warning: Sip and Smith (Hawaii) canceled our paid wedding band session and refused a refund — turns out this is a pattern

My wife and I booked a wedding band-making session at Sip and Smith for our honeymoon in Hawaii. We scheduled it with an employee named Kelsey about six weeks ahead of time.

Based on that confirmed booking, we arranged our accommodations and transportation around it. After we arrived in Hawaii, Kelsey canceled our session. When we asked for a refund, we were refused.

After it happened, I started reading other reviews online and found several other customers describing the exact same thing: pay for a session, get canceled on, get refused a refund. It doesn't seem like a one-off — it looks like a recurring practice.

We've since disputed the charge with our bank and filed complaints with the BBB and Hawaii's consumer protection office. Posting here so anyone else considering booking with them can go in with eyes open — especially if you're planning around a trip like a honeymoon where the timing and logistics matter.
