I’m noticing more and more teams no longer allow their opposite hitter to attack from position 4, nor their outside hitter to play in position 2 when the serve-receive formation places the opposite in 4 and the outside hitter in 2.

You often see the opposite go straight to their usual spot, either by moving close to the net or even looping around behind the passers. Meanwhile, the outside hitter shifts into position 5 to handle serve reception.

What do you think? Do teams at lower levels also use this kind of system?
