Found blind severely emaciated Shih Tzu in the middle of the stree.
So i was driving an Uber passenger home at 330am and drove around a bend to see a tiny shih tzu in the middke of the road. I put her in the car, dropped off my passenger and brought her home. She is tiny and severely emaciated mayby 4lbs. Its strange because she smelled of shampoo. shes well groomed but quite literaly skin and bones. Severely emaciated. Oh and the following day i learned she is obviously blind though i dont think shes an old dog. Shes so tiny I thought she was a puppy. She is eating well and has good spirits. She constantly wags her tail and follows my voice all over. Im taking her to the local Animal shelter to check for chip and an exam but im bewildered at her condition and the location wherei found her. I still think shes a puppy but she is very easy going and seemingly used to being held. She also seems house trained. Do you think shes blind from starving? Will her sight come back? Again its so wierd that she was bathed smelling like shampoo and groomed well but she is severely emaciated. Im so confused. I will take her into my home but im not prepared for expensive health issues. Anyone have any insight on this breed? I would be very grateful.
