Hey everyone,
I’m looking to add a fourth watch to my rotation and could really use some input. I have a pretty strict rule for my collection: strictly one watch per brand, and no overlapping dial colors.
For context, my current SOTC is:
- Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 (Green dial)
- Seiko Presage SSA455J1 (Champagne dial)
- Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch (Grey dial)
To stick to the no-overlap rule, I've decided my next watch has to have a blue dial. But beyond just ticking that box, I am really looking for a piece with a true wow-factor, something that punches above its weight class and makes me want to just stare at my wrist all day.
After way too much research, I've narrowed it down to four blue dial options. It's basically a battle between heritage charm and modern tech:
- Longines Legend Diver (L3.774.4.90.2)
- Longines Spirit (L3.811.4.93.0)
- Formex Essence Leggera 43 (0330.4.6339.713)
- Formex Field Automatic 40mm (0660.1.6532.844)
My wrist is 18.5 cm (about 7.25 inches), so I’m fairly confident I can pull off anything from the 40mm Field up to the 43mm Leggera without much issue.
One quick side note: I know some of these are COSC certified, but I honestly don't care much about that. I rotate my collection enough that my watches are usually dead by the time I put them on anyway, so extreme accuracy isn't a huge selling point for me.
Has anyone here handled both modern Longines and Formex? I'm really curious how they compare when it comes to finishing and everyday wearability, and which one actually delivers that "wow" feeling in person. Also, which of these do you guys think would round out my current three-watch lineup the best?
Any thoughts, pros/cons, or alternative blue dial suggestions that fit my "one brand" rule would be awesome.
Cheers!
