This Bel Canto is (almost) literally fire🔥

Describing something as “fire” never really resonated with me - until I saw the dial on this “Scintillante” limited edition version of the Bel Canto. Sometimes orange, sometimes pink, always red, the way the light catches the guilloché pattern of the dial is mesmerising, especially in sunlight.

I also have the titanium Consort bracelet that I’ll usually wear it on, but for now the white leather strap looks absolutely stunning.

I’m taking it for a walk on the common now to show it off to the local wildlife and dog walkers.

First watch of my younger brother

Told him to buy a casio. But he ended up buying this for 1800 in my currency which would be 14 something dollars

[SOTC] My Humble Collection as a Med Student

Lil update since my previous post.

As I mentioned, I've narrowed down my collection to 7 watches and got a nice box for them. I'm trying to wear each of them once a week.

I gave away the rest of them to my brother and some close friends (one of them is into watches now, so it's a win).

Also, in my last post, I said I've finished collecting. So naturally, I got myself a panda.

Now I'm REALLY done 👀👀

Hublot+Nico

Nico spends more time marketing Hublot than Hublot’s own marketing department . Every second video is “how horrible Hublot is”, meanwhile they still sit comfortably in the top 10 worldwide in sales

At this point, Nico should probably start asking them for commission. 😁😁😁

[CW True PRIME bespoke] God tier or trash?

I’m a long-time watch enthusiast, and this is my first ever bespoke project, done in collaboration with Christopher Ward. But honestly, the idea started in a pretty unexpected way.

CW had just released the True GMT, which I was considering buying. My motto has always been: “life is too short for boring watches" and I’ve always gravitated toward vivid dials and watches with personality, so the standard black/silver configurations just weren’t quite doing it for me.

Then I saw my 6yo son playing with his Transformers. One of them can auto-convert and even take voice commands to do tricks, genuinely cool stuff. So it hit me: what if I combined my passion (read: addiction) for watches with my son’s obsession with Transformers?

I wanted something that felt like a real “mechanical hero” on the wrist.

The SH21 / CW-002 movement was the perfect heart for the concept: an in-house COSC-certified calibre with a 120-hour (5-day) power reserve and a traveller GMT module, honestly one of the strongest movement packages in this segment.

The base dial was already complex, but I wanted to push it even further. The vertical texture was inspired by CW’s Apex limited editions, which felt fitting given that CW themselves said the original True GMT dial took inspiration from the Apex line. The final result became one of the most intricate dials they’ve ever produced, and CW even told me that the level of customization on this project was “quite excessive”.

I made absolutely no compromise on the design, and I’m genuinely thrilled with how it turned out (my son is too). You don’t need much imagination to picture this thing transforming into some cutting-edge mechanical hero from another world.

At 40.5mm with a 48mm lug-to-lug, it’s basically a tiny mechanical hero. It may not defend Earth, but taking over the wrist is close enough.

My only perk for doing the project was reserving serial numbers #1 and #2 for me and my son. I’m planning to give him #1 for his 18th birthday, while I keep #2. I had them both engraved with “Roll out!” so every time I wear the watch, I'll hear Peter Cullen’s iconic voice in my head.

My son knows how much work went into this project and asks me every now and then how the “Optimus watch” is doing, so seeing the order page finally go live last week honestly felt surreal.  It’s been quite an incredible journey so far, and not something I would have ever envisioned doing.

So now I’m curious, is it God tier, or trash?
Would you proudly wear something like this, or is it way too much?

Current Collection

Started watch collecting 2 years ago. No big brand watch yet but going there. I don’t wanna miss out watches I liked just to get there. Hahaha!

Latest collection is the Nivada Grenchen F77 Ceramic with Meteorite Dial. The most unique piece now from my collections. Love the revival of the brand and the business direction they are going!

Next watch will be a Longines Conquest (couple watch) Tudor Monarch or the Nivada Antarctic (35mm). Depending on budget availability.

Grail: Vacheron Constantin Overseas 4500V/110R-B705

Rarely seen... My Zenith stratos Striking Tenth. Felex Baumgartner

The Stratos striking tenth was the watch that Felix Baumgartner was wearing when he did the space jump.

Notice the lovely details on the dial. Shown here on a nato as it felt too heavy with its lugs and endlinks.

I later actually met him at a Zenith event. Lovely guy and he happily signed a book I had that covered his Jump from Space. Rip.

Taking a break for now. I would like to add a Zenith, Cartier, or IWC next, just waiting for the right time (or an impulsive purchase lol)

3 year old starting the collection young!

Had to run into the swatch store to replace the batteries on some vintage swatches I got. The minute my autistic 3 year old went in the shop he was in his element. He loves numbers so this watch is absolutely perfect for him and he keeps showing everyone he see asking what time it is!!!
