Has anyone else had KLM just... delete their booking? This feels insane.
I'm honestly in shock right now and wondering if this has happened to anyone else.
About 5–6 days ago I bought a ticket with KLM. They charged my card, emailed me a confirmation with a booking code, and I even added the trip to the KLM app. Everything looked completely normal.
Fast forward to this morning. My flight is supposed to leave at **9:00 PM tonight**, but when I opened the app, my booking had completely disappeared. It was also gone from the website.
I called KLM customer service, and the agent told me, "You don't have a ticket."
I said, "What do you mean? You took my money, sent me a confirmation email, and I've had the booking in my app for days."
She just kept saying that the booking doesn't exist.
The craziest part? **The flight is still operating.** They're still selling seats on it.
I'm already at an airport hotel because I planned everything around this trip. Their solution was to either:
* Buy a new ticket for tomorrow for **about $600 more**, or * Get a refund for my original ticket, which could take up to two weeks..
How is that an acceptable solution? If this was KLM's mistake, why am I expected to pay hundreds of dollars more because they somehow erased my reservation?
This honestly feels like a scam. You buy a ticket days in advance, they take your money, send you confirmation, then on the day of travel the booking magically disappears and your only option is to pay a huge last-minute fare.
Has anyone experienced anything like this with KLM (or any airline)? Is there some explanation for this that I'm missing, or is this as outrageous as it sounds? I'm honestly at a loss.
