Just found this cold mouse up in the mountains and have no idea what to do. He’s cold to the touch but very active and try to latch onto something. I would love to try to nurse it until I can find a rescue. I don’t see any nest nearby.

What can I do?

Edit 1: I read about milk belts and this fella had a faint one so we have left the guy where we found him/her and will check back in two hours. I would still appreciate any help in case we have to nurse the little guy

Edit 2: I checked back an hour and a half after we put him/her back and they’re gone. I am really hoping the mama picked up her baby as they were under a covered porch so not easy for a bird to see. I learned a lot from the guides commented and will keep it for future reference :)
