I of course will be asking my doctor their recommendation but I wanted to ask for experiences on this.
I am currently in my second ER and they do the retrieval tomorrow (Crossing fingers as I have 31 follicles right now). I probably will be doing one more ER as my clinic recommended 2-3 embryos per child we'd like to have. We currently have 2 embryos frozen that were euploid (26 retrieved, 22 mature, 15 fertilized, 5 embryos, 2 euploid - and no one talks about the attrition rate until you sound sad). So we're hoping for at least 6 euploid embryos in total before moving onto Lupron.
I had Adeno (luckily not in the cavity) and PCOS so the doctor wants two months of Lupron Depot prior to doing a transfer in which they'll put me on estrogen during that time. I have no of course worked myself up on the side effects. I already struggle with Adeno and PCOS to the point where I will be getting a total hysterectomy with my tube removed once I am done having kids. I know everyone is different but I'm freaking out.
I realized clinics don't really explain things. Like they mention it but it feels clinical. Now based on my current schedule I'll be on Lupron approx. August to September and doing a transfer in Oct. We planned on a trip to Japan as our last baby free vacation. We do understand that we'll have other vacations but this is the last one without having much to think about. We want to go for 14 days late September to have better weather in Japan. I just dont know how others have faired while on such a trip.
Yes, I could just delay the transfer to have a total care free trip but, there's that selfish part of me that wants to do it all and finally get to my transfer. I don't know why waiting another 2 months feels so long and feels like I am putting IVF on the back burner when it took so long just to get to this point (9 years, 2 years just fighting for IVF coverage with my insurance). Was Lupron Depot really such a hinderance for you? How was traveling while on Lupron?
