This team is right now a dumpster fire. Still too early to discard rhe season, but we are not heading in the right direction. We need to figure out what guys are going to give us the best chance to win and put them out there with the opportunity to come together as a team. We beat ourselves all the time and don't know how to take advantage of opportunities presented in a game. Bad fundamentals defense, perplexing approaches at the plate, pitchers who are not aggressive in the strike zone and bad baserunning.

Enough of putting guys out there who are "trying to figure it out." Or playing guys to get the rust off. No more experimental lineups with guys out of position. Find the players who will be locked in, know what they need to do and will show up every night. If we can do that, we can develop some consistency. The talent is there, even with the injuries.

We make almost no in game adjustments. Fried was terrible on Sunday, couldn't find the zone. But we still had hitters bailing him out by swinging at pitches outside the zone. When we were ahead in the count, we would let him off the hook by swinging at a pitcher's pitch. We need to create a good baseball environment if we expect any young player coming up to ever be good.

Just about all this sits on our 1st year manager Albernaz. Time for him to see if he cant get a group together that can play the game the right way. Doesn't matter how you look at your analytics, all the match ups and different lineups you have, if the team just does not play well.
