So ive recently been diagnosed as type 1 and received a dexcom the last time I went to the endo. Before knowing I was diabetic I signed up for an employer insurance plan with a 5000 dollar deductible. With prior auth for the sensors im looking at 1500 dollars for 6. Paying at this rate i would hit the deductible with month or 2 left in the policy where I would have the sensors covered. I've reached out to cigna they will not cover it as DME so I couldnt imagine the price before deductible if i was on a pump im currently using pens. It also wouldnt be the worst thing in the world to finger stick. Im just looking for advice. Should I actually pay and try to hit the deductible or is there another way I can go about this?
