11 week old doesn’t go back to sleep after 2nd night feed
She’s 11 weeks old now but has been doing this forever. She’ll feed and then be awake for 1.5-2.5hours later.
Her second feed is around 2-3am which I do side laying in bed, dim light and no eye contact or talking. After the feed she normally burps herself laying down. After that I keep her in the bed anyways so all I need is for her to fall asleep but it doesn’t matter what I try she doesn’t. I try just leaving her there to fall asleep on her own, gently patting, sitting upright on my chest after the feed, bouncing on the ball. Everything.
I’m finding it so triggering now. Like why on earth will you just not go to sleep child!?
She does nap for 4-5hrs (total) during the day so I may need to cut that down which I have been trying to but I’m so exhausted I sleep when she sleeps.
If anyone’s had something similar please let me know what’s worked!
ETA - I fear I just have a really difficult baby to put to sleep. She is a psycho with her naps too, doesn’t matter if we start the wind down period early she’s just wired and stares at us, we have to cover her eyes and even that doesn’t work half the time. Or our personal favourite of getting her down in the cot and then she wakes up 3 mins later.
My first born would wake up feed & burp then lay him down in the cot and he’d fall asleep on his own so this is a big change lol
