I can't explain why, but if I play the game and notice something about my guy is off it just annoys me until I correct it. My brain won't allow me to let a single detail slide, everything has to be by the book.
Chapter colours, including trims and lenses have to be an exact match, Markings on pauldrons and knee caps, things that denote company and squad all must align.
It extends to loadouts too. In most cases this is fine, Tacticals can cover Intercessor Infernus, Hellblaster standard wargear with their weapon options. Assault with a heavy bolt and any of it's Melee weapons will do the same. Bulwark with a Sword and Shield is the most accurate though I've seen some sources that only states a 'master crafted power melee weapon' so I stretch it to include the Axe when I feel like it. Sniper can be either an Infiltrator (Marksman Bolt Carbine) or Eliminator (Bolt Sniper/Instigator bolt/Las Fusil) with a bolt pistol and knife. The Heavy with a heavy bolter and bolt pistol is almost dead on for the Heavy intercessor in Gravis Armour, except there is no melee weapons in game like the table top :(
This has been bugging me of late for one reason, Vanguard. Now for primary weapons you can make an Incursor, Reiver, or infiltrator. My problem is arising from the fact all of these roles solely use the combat knife as their melee option whereas my favourite melee in the game is the power axe.
The loop of block, block, power backstep is too fun to put down, yet something in my brain keeps saying "use the knife and be lore accurate". Even when I play as a flesh tearer I feel wrong somehow for using the Axe over a chainsword like GOAT Gabriel Seth
Ultimately this is a non issue and I should just let myself have fun it's really not that deep. Thank you for reading my ocd rambling 😅
