A kit im doing (in progress)

this is a kit from thomann

you can see the initial idea in the drawing

im planning on painting white and drawing flowers on it. also I decided to only include a neck pickup, and use an archtop tailpiece, so i filled in all the holes i woont need. waitingfor the glue to dry and then i sand. im not sure how to continue (ill have to look stuff up)

any advice? this is my first kit

also there are some tool dents on the bod; ill have to fix those (steaming??)

Does it have to be the same wood?

This is a semi hollow kit. i wanna cover the bridge pickup whole and I was wondering. the top is maple but i cant find a wood shop near me right now for a piece of maple. so can i just cut from this board or is it a stupid idea? Maybe it expands differwntly with heat and it’s gonna fuck up my work?? i plan to paint a solid colour over it. any help?

Is this an issue? On a kit im doing…

Y’all see how theres a 1mm gap between the inside wood and the top wood? Is it going to cause me problems? If yes, how to fix?
