GX470 intriguing gremlin

I'll keep it short, bought my GX with a bunch of issues and one of the main ones being a clock, seats, mirrors, steering wheel, and stereo screen not functioning and always resetting.

This past weekend I finally narrowed it down to it being the ECU-B 10amp fuse being the culprit. I replaced it and it was all functioning all weekend until about an hour ago tonight after leaving work, both my headlights went out and I had to drive home with my high beams.

Before digging deeper, just figured I'd ask if anyone on here has had similar issues. I do recall looking at the previous records that the previous owner replaced a headlight and when I bought it, that same headlight went out and I'm sure if the ballasts can be a common issue with GXs.

Let’s try this again (without the stickers haha)

Let me share some appreciation to one of the last ThinkPads that almost all hardware can be tinkered with.

The T440P. (my specs)

- i7-4910 w/ Thermal Grizzly
- GT370 NVidia Mobo swap
- GT370 Fan Heatsink
- FHD 1920x1080 IPS Matte LCD LED screen
- Transcend 512GB M.2 2242 w/ Heatsink & Pad
- Kingston 960GB SSD
- T450 Trackpad
- 16GB G.Skill RAM
- 135W Charger
- Docking Station

I built this thing like 3 years ago but since then, I’ve jumped around from the T480, X1G6, T14G2, T480s. I had forgot how snappy and reliable this thing still is running Ubuntu and the amount of PORTS!

Anyone have an idea what this thing is worth nowadays with these upgrades? Kinda curious before I make this my new daily carry around.

Until this day, I can’t find anything as good as this laptop to replace this thing. The amount of all usable ports, not having to deal with carrying swappable batteries, dock station compatibility, can still run Windows 11 for some school apps/programs, the feel/build quality of the materials, and the keyboard just feel way better than the cheap feeling AMD T14G2 I recently sold.

Unfortunately, I’m feeling its age and there’s just so much I can further upgrade it. It just doesn’t compare with the specs of the newer models.
