2015 GX transmission fluid drain
Long story short, I’m injured and normally handle all the maintenance on our vehicles myself. My wife kept on about the oil needing to be changed and swore she could do it. I didn’t think it would be to much for her she is somewhat handy. “Somewhat”
She unfortunately removed the wrong drain plug. I realized what happened as soon as I asked where the bolt was and saw that it was silver.
The good news is the GX was never started or moved after it happened.
The bad news is the transmission fluid mixed with old engine oil in our drain pan, so I have no idea how much fluid actually came out.
What are your thoughts? Should I have it towed to the dealer so they can refill it properly and check the transmission fluid temperature? I don’t have an OBD2 scanner or a way to guarantee the vehicle is perfectly level.
Or is there another way to determine how much fluid came out without pulling the pan, replacing the filter, and basically starting from scratch?
Any advice would be appreciated.
And yes it was really my wife !!! Jo
