My Lenovo Yoga 6 laptop is connected to my several year old Lenovo ThinkPad USB-C Dock Gen2.  The dock is connected to my monitor via the display port.  

When I boot my PC, I must turn on and off my monitor because it often isn't receiving a DP signal from the dock. I have taken the following steps to correct the problem, which began about 6 months ago:

1 - Power Cycle the Dock (The "Static Drain"). This works, but I have to repeat the process each time I boot up my machine. In other words, it gets rid of the symptoms, but not the cause of the problem.

2  - Replaced my cables

3 -  Tried out a different monitor

4 -  reinstalled firmware and drivers from Lenovo’s website

Can my dock be repaired or should I replace it?
