hello guys, I'm a student currently doing my a levels, will finish by this oct 2026 - and I plan to study in Malaysia for mechanical/aerospace engineering...I wasn't planning on Malaysia initially, but then comparing unis in Asia, Malaysia was my best pick since in most of the other countries language is like mandatory to learn or else it's hard to survive, and it's cheaper(?) (I'm still researching on the living costs, pls feel free to share the living costs)
But I wanted to know about public unis in Malaysia since I can't afford private unis, so far I saw UM, UKM, UPM, USM, UTM to be high ranked globally (trying to get into the top 100 or 130 universities) so I was wondering how are these unis for mechanical engineering, in terms of affordability, campus life, employability etc. Because I saw in reddit many ppl are saying UTM is better in terms of engineering, but then again I saw few saying UM is better, I thought UM is better because ofc its high ranked globally, but I want yalls honest opinions on which university is best to do Undergrad in mechanical engineering, and why do you think it's good and what about the scholarships in Malaysia, is it possible to get scholarship as an intl. student so far I've seen its limited and competitive, pls feel free to list some below!
