I’m currently looking into doing my Masters in saxophone performance. I graduated from undergraduate 2 years ago and have been teaching music at a public school since. I have been looking into schools for my masters and thinking about the financial aspects of it, and I know I won’t be able to afford it without some sort of graduate assistantship. With my teaching background I feel a Teaching assistantship would be ideal.

My question is: What are saxophone professors looking for in teaching assistant candidates? I recognize these positions are very sought after and competitive, so I am looking for some guidance and advice. Any help is appreciated!
