I shared a few days ago a career mode idea and I've went for it. I'll be sharing seasonal updates in here just for fun I guess 😄, but would love to get some feedback. For context, I'm playing with 6-min shorter halves with OS Sliders at Legendary difficulty on PS5.

End of the 2025/26 season:

I have kept the 4-2-3-1 formation that Chelsea was using to survive throughout the end of the season. In the Premier League we picked up wins against Nottingham Forest and Sunderland, but lost to Liverpool and Spurs. In the FA Cup, we went through the semifinal by 1-0 against Leeds United and got a 2-1 victory against Manchester City (they scored first with Haaland, then Cole Palmer and João Pedro got us the trophy). Europa League is set for next season, despite our 7th placement on Premier League.

Summer transfer window:

In the last game of previous season and in the pre-season, I started adopting Xabi's favorite style: 3-4-2-1. Here are the overall farewells made:

  • Cucurella sold to Barcelona for 85 million Euros - despite being a very nice player, he doesn't fit the formation very well. The proposal also came way above his market value and BlueCo thought it was the best time to sell and make profit.
  • Robert Sánchez sold to Newcastle for 28.3 million Euros - has done well in some games, but it was very unreliable. He is not old for a keeper, but was a good opportunity to sell him. Newcastle will definitely have him as a starter
  • Tyrique George sold to Real Madrid for 10.1 million Euros - wanted to keep him, but the offer from Madrid made the youngster's eyes shine too much. Being a sub for a sub, he preferred going over to Madrid.
  • Andrey Santos sold to Manchester United for 55 million Euros - with the formation change, Enzo Fernandez and Caicedo would be regular starters. At United, Andrey had the chance to keep being a starter, since they only had Ugarte and Mainoo at this moment. Also the player was bought from Vasco by 12.5M in 2022, so BlueCo saw this as a perfect profit opportunity
  • Clean up of the squad: sold Ronnie Stutter, Wesley Fofana, Badiashile, David Fofana, Omari Kellyman, Dujuan Richards, Disasi, Nicolas Jackson, Adarabioyo / loaned-out Anselmino, Marc Guiu, Essugo, Jimmy-Jay Morgan

These are the replacements we bought:

  • António Silva bought from Benfica for 23.5 million Euros - perfect for the 3 at the back system, is my 12th player and future starter to take up position from Chalobah.
  • Rodrigo Mora bought from Porto for 40 million Euros - only 19 years old, a bunch of potential. He is a great playmaker and I believe he will grow a lot with our team.
  • Jack Clarke bought from Ipswich Town for 7.5 million Euros - despite never succeeding in top-tier teams in the Premier League, this was a personal request from Xabi Alonso. A player that has experience in the english league and comes to be a sub for a cheap price. BlueCo only agreed to this because they believe Jack can become more valuable and be sold into profit in a near future. The english mid-fielder had a strong season with Ipswich town in the Championship and was important for their ascension to the PL.
  • Luciano Rodríguez bought from NEOM SC for 15 million Euros - comes to be a 3rd option in attack, behind João Pedro and Liam Delap. He can also play in the wings, being versatile and brings up speed on the attack when needed. In the future he might be loaned out to gather more PL experience by playing more regularly
  • João Gomes bought from Wolverhampton for 29 million Euros - comes as a direct replacement to Andrey. Wolves were in the championship and the brazillian midfielder was in negotiations with Shakhtar before being approached by Chelsea, which he preferred to stay at England.

In the pre-season, we got 1 win against Leverkunsen and 2 draws against Barcelona and Girona. In the FA Community Shield we lost to Arsenal by 0-2. In the first 4 Premier League games, we won against Crystal Palace 2-0, Aston Villa 1-0, Bournemouth 3-1 and Arsenal 1-0. Defensive system is working quite nicely and the João Pedro and Estevão are bracing the goals for us.

Here's my starting eleven:

  • GK: Penders (Jorgensen playing FA and Carabao cups)
  • CB-L: Colwill (alternating with Hato)
  • CB: Chalobah (in future to be replaced by António Silva)
  • CB-R: Reece James (captain)
  • CM-L: Caicedo (more defensive)
  • CM-R: Enzo Fernández (more attacking)
  • LM: Pedro Neto (switching with Garnacho)
  • RM: Gittens (switching with Malo Gusto)
  • CAM-L: Cole Palmer (switching with Jack Clarke)
  • CAM-R: Estevão (switching with Rodrigo Mora)
  • CF: João Pedro (switching mainly with Liam Delap, but also having Luciano Rodríguez as an option)

Any feedbacks are more than welcome 😄, let me know your thoughts!
