I didn't recall hearing them on the radio ever when I was there last.

Splashing out for this one.

My wife and I went for two weeks, two years ago. This time we are bringing our two 17 year olds with us for the whole thing. Our oldest and his girlfriend are joining us for the first week.

Yes, I know some of the drives are longish...we are from Texas, so a four hour drive is a day trip for us.

Arrive June 9th. Pick up our rental cars, go to Sky Lagoon for the Ritual and check into our condo.

June 10th--Food Walk and whale watching tour

11th--snowmobile and secret lagoon

12th--Golden Circle

13th--explore Rek. Maybe Fly Over or Perlan?

14th--whitewater rafting

15th horseback riding

16th-Viking Festival. Oldest and GF have to leave

17th--Happy National Day, leave for Snaefellness (Hellisandur)

18th--take ferry to Westfjords, visit Dynjandi, stay in Surhureyri

19th--seal watching tour, drive to Akueryi

20th--Forest Lagoon, drive to Laxamyri as a base for Husavik and Myvatn

21st-- Godafoss and midnight whale tour

22nd--hike geothermal area, Dettifoss, Selffoss, Egilsstadir

23rd--Seydisfjordur

25th--kayak Jokullsarlon lagoon, Diamond Beach

We leave on the 30th..so my thought to continue the loop is Vik, Westmann Island, and over to Grindavik, then spend the last night in Rekyjavik or Keflavik proper.

We will be stopping at several waterfalls and shorter hikes. I rented an all-wheel drive SUV, so I am not going into the highlands but gravel roads should be fine.

Any must-see places in the towns/villages? Restaurant/bar/brewery stops? (The microbrewery in Husavik had this incredible frozen sour ale slush)

Oh, and my wife and I actually like the shark!

We're splashing out on this trip, staying in the Eden.

Any suggestions/recommendations on the to-do or avoid at all costs lists?

We are planning outfits for the theme nights, for sure. We've booked our fantasy couples' massage, and thought the sexy game night experience could be a lot of fun as well.
