Hey everyone,

I’m looking for some advice on my current build. I’m running an RTX 5070 with a Ryzen 5 5600X, playing at 1440p. In games like Call of Duty (mix of Medium/High settings), I’m noticing a significant performance gap.

The Performance Data (via MSI Afterburner):

  • GPU Usage: Only hits around 60%.
  • CPU Usage: Stays high, ranging from 75% to 90%, sometimes spiking higher.
  • CPU Temps: Very cool, sitting around 63°C even at high usage.

The RAM Situation: I have 16GB (2x8GB), but checking CPU-Z (see file {7A5CA341-1987-4049-ABA0-21D40EFAB1F5}.png), it’s Kingston DDR4-2666MHz CL16.

My Questions:

  1. Since my temps are fine (63°C) but my CPU usage is pinned and my GPU is "slacking" at 60%, is the 2666MHz RAM the main thing holding me back?
  2. Would upgrading to 3600MHz RAM (16GB or 32GB) be enough to balance this out, or do I need a faster CPU like a 5800X3D or a move to AM5?
  3. Are there specific 1440p settings I should turn UP to put more load on the GPU and potentially smooth out the stutters?

I want to make sure I’m actually getting the 1440p performance I paid for with the 5070. Thanks!
